I would be amazed if Ford made a special 1.6 L EcoBoost engine without direct injection. The Escape and the Fusion's 1.6 EcoBoost use direct injection. It's most likely a typo on the specs. page.

Quote:
ECOBOOST TECHNOLOGY: DIRECT INJECTION IS COOL

Direct fuel injection is one of the key enabling technologies of Ford’s EcoBoost strategy to deliver advancements in fuel economy of up to 20 percent without sacrificing the performance customers want. Paired with turbocharging, direct injection gives the new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine in the Lincoln MKS the power and torque of a 4.6-liter V-8 with the fuel economy of a V-6.

Direct injection uses high-pressure fuel injectors to spray a fine mist of fuel directly into each cylinder. This precisely controlled fuel delivery improves the engine’s transient response, contributes to improved fuel economy and enables improved emissions, particularly at cold start. The EcoBoost engine reduces CO2 emissions by 15 percent.

Like the spray from an atomizer bottle one might use to keep cool in the summer, the fine mist generated by each solenoid-controlled injector’s six tiny outlet holes helps to create a well-mixed air-fuel mixture. It also cools the incoming air, helping to reduce the potential for engine knock

(I mean, my Focus weighs about 2700lb so a Fiesta should definitely weigh less.)
But the Fiesta is about the same size as the old Focus...

Finally, to all the naysayers go out your heads back under a rock. And oh look, even more power then initial projections. This ST and the three cyl fiesta will be hits. If the 3cyl makes hybrid like mpg itll sell very well. I want the ST to be my next car, just have to learn to drive a manual now lol.

No, lol. The Fiesta looks bigger than it really is.
Fiesta wheelbase is 98" and the old Focus wheelbase is 103"
Fiesta's length is 160" and the old Focus length is 175"

They are, however, the same width and height which is what makes the Fiesta look so big.

ZX3 was 168". But still a big difference, I concede.

Yo.... what is this?

Quote:
Fiesta ST steering is more direct and responsive than the base model. A unique suspension with modified front knuckle makes for a quicker overall steering ratio of 13.6:1.
Revoknuckle? Upper control arm? Anti-dive geometry? It's listed as a M. Strut in the tech specs, but that comment makes me wonder.

Good observation. A variation of the Revo, maybe? I don't understand why Ford wouldn't come out and say it's the Revoknuckle if that's the case, considering it was a big selling point for the Focus ST.

A little off topic but...I think it would be cool it they made a Fusion ST. I dunno how well it would sell but it could be cool. I mean after all, there is a performance focus, fiesta, and a Taurus. All they need is the Fusion.
