Front wheel drive is so stupid. Automakers still haven't figured it out. Rwd or awd is the way to go. I love my Focus, bit I hate front wheel drive.

i'm loving it! i can't justify spending 25-30k for a focus st, but if they can get a basic fiesta st under 20 then that I can do. Can't wait to see the color options (pics that is).

Still don't care for the frontal styling treatment, still wish they sold it as a 3-door, but nevertheless like the car. Definitely seems like a worthy SVT replacement for those of us who don't want a larger, more luxurious car like the Focus ST.

does the "93 octane recommended" simply mean their benchmark tests (for horsepower) used the highest octane gas, and you might get less power if a lesser gas is used?

So...same weight as my ZX3, but with 70 more horses and 80 more TQ? This sounds like a fun recipe.

Side note: it doesn't bother me that there's no three door Fiesta. I miss having four doors, and to be honest it's annoying when my big ass door swings wide. Parking in lots gets tricky. That said, if there was a 3 door and a 5 door, assuming the prices were identical I'd take the 3 door since it looks better.

That's cool considering the 2013 Fiesta manual hatch weighs 2537 so less than a 183 lb. weight gain from a regular Fiesta to Fiesta ST and it gets around 80 additional HP and lotsa torque. Pounds per horsepower = 21.14 for a Fiesta 1.6-liter Ti-VCT I-4, 13.6 for a Fiesta ST with 1.6 L EcoBoost and 18.25 for a Focus manual w/ a 2.0 liter Ti-VCT I-4. Ford appears to have recently removed the curb weight specs. from the ST specs. page. It use to say 3223 lbs. which translates into 12.79 pounds per horsepower w/ a 2.0 liter EcoBoost or quite close to a Fiesta ST.

One thing I like about the Fiesta STs that we've seen so far is that there is no center exhaust like the Focus ST, so fitting a trailer hitch for a bike rack shouldn't be a problem unless the production model changes that.
