It sounded to me like both, but the Det News article I read probably mentioned Sync more explicitly MFT.

Well, the SYNC update page is down, and syncmyride.com has a message saying:

"We’ll be working on the SYNC Owner site!

Looks like something big is happening.

Or it's just a big coincidence....

seems to me like this particular update won't be available for a while...am i wrong in taking away from the article that it will debut w/ the 2014 fiesta, which is probably a year away?

I think your solution might be illegal for car manufacturers to do because drivers can use it all the time and it'd be a distraction. That said - I might consider assisting your development. haha

Let's start a pool, $10 bucks says the update will cause just as many problems than it fixes if not more.

V3.2.2 has been worse than v3.02. The system crashes once a week now, there's screen corruption, and the most recently used device is often forgotten when the system is turned off. On top of that, the PAN BT profile setting isn't retained when the car is turned off which makes MFT a pain to use as an Internet GW.

I am guessing the developers are doing their own QA which is not a very good software development strategy. There's way too many test escapes with every version released to date.
