I think so too. About once a week or so (in a safe place like the freeway on ramp) I just put it to the floor and let it run thru the gears.

There is no fixed learning period because the TCM is always "learning".

The transmission should be well behaved after no more than 100 miles of mixed driving.

How can you say that with all the reports, including mine, of abrupt changes in the behavior of the DCT after the 12B37 software update?

My focus (no pun intended) was solely on mechanical issues.

Same behavior with ours. Not annoying at all. I love driving the Focus.
