Long time ago I switched over to synthetic. My wife at the time, whom I didn't tell about the switch, remarked a few days later that the car was quieter. I also was able to drive in stop and go traffic with the (dealer installed) AC on in my truck and not have the temperature gauge go into the red. Kind of sold me on synthetic and I've used it ever since. As for a better ride, more power ...
