What are you guys doing for extra keys?

For those looking for an affordable spare key without the wireless remote, this one worked fine on my 2013 SE:

Not trying to steer traffic to that particular eBay seller. I'm sure others are selling keys that work just as well. But this is the only one I have experience with.

I had to go to five locksmiths until I found one that both had the cutting machine and someone who knew how to operate it. Once the key was cut, I was able to program it on the first try, using the instructions in the owner's manual.

It's worth making a spare before you need one: It takes two activated keys to program a new one, so if you wait until a key is lost or stolen, you'll need a dealer's help ($$$) to make a new key.

... I should add, the locksmith charged me $45 to cut the key, so the total cost was just under $60/key.

Call around for key cutting prices and negotiate if necessary. I had my key cut in the Kansas City area for $10.00 and I was in and out of the locksmith's shop in less than 5 minutes.

I ordered two off eBay (as shown for a 2013) but they were the old style, sent back and he is supposed to send me the new style for a bit extra charge.

That is his bust... the new keys should be sent to you with no additional cost. He listed them as a 2013 key so thats what you should get. I would have been upset enough at that to jsut return it and buy from someone else. I would definitely not leave 100% positive feedback.

I bought a motherboard for a laptop once. The guy sent the wrong one and sent me out the correct one and never even asked for the wrong one back.

Hey if people are looking for flip keys I think I saw that the new fusions use a new style flip key. Maybe we could get them cut and programmed for the focus?
