Good deal. Happy to hear it is working for you. Kinda neat when that first one shows up on the screen and then the system reads it for you. Honestly, though, the thing that I am most psyched about is that I can actually use my hands-free calling again. Best thing (for me at least) that I have found so far with this update!

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention. So involved in the txt part. yeah I got up to like 75mph on the way home from lunch and its amazing the difference. Like you said it's still has that speakerphone quality but all of the wind tunnel noise I had is absolutely gone!. I think I can finally retire my jabra to the wife's car now.

Of course my dealership has no idea what this update is... figures. Let's hope they don't have it for 8 and 1/2 hours this time and actually change my oil too. Will report back with my impressions if they in fact do update my MFT. I did a master reset prior to bringing it in as well and will do one once I get it back.

Wait. WHAT? I could see if it came out in the last day or two but it has been a couple of weeks now. Anyhow, completely worth it IMHO. My hands-free calling works again, my voice commands for music work again. I still get lists sometimes when I tell it to play a song but at least the song I want is usually on the first page and even the other songs it gives make sense from a "similar sound" perspective, unlike the page after page I used to get that was "What? How could it even think I was trying to say that!"

To be honest, as time went on w/3.0.2 and I was mad about things that didn't work as well as they did w/2.11 I was kind of started to convince myself that maybe things didn't work as well w/2.11 as I thought I remembered, that I was re-writing history in my head. Maybe the call quality wasn't quite as good as I thought I remembered (but I absolutely knew voice commands were better). This update showed me that I wasn't doing that. That those things did work and did work well until Ford broke them for me with their "upgrade" (also renews my degree of anger to think about the fact that I had a perfectly functional (yes, still quirky but it worked) system and Ford broke it and stuck me with the broken one for almost 9 months, over half of the time I have owned this car).

If they do manage to figure it all out and get it installed, post back with your thoughts/observations after some time with it. First update to MFT that I personally can honestly say I would give a (big) thumbs up.

You dont have nav in your car, update it yourself. So totally worth it doing it yourself instead of letting the morons at Ford service handle it.

Don't know if this has been covered already but I'll ask anyhow.
Does anyone know why the last official MFT software release changes the behavior of the Home Screen to where now the reporting of the current street, road or highway name doesn't always get reflected in the navi section of the screen. For me it is intermittent and unpredictable. It appears as though there is no way to force the behavior; it either works or it doesn't - all on its own.

Here's a tip to the Ford Team as well:

HD Radio functionality for us living in fringe areas is annoying as hell.
Why not allow a global forced and fixed "disabled" condition in the option settings?
The GUI goes through an elaborate confirmation process of asking if the user wants to disable the functionality with a prompting pop-up but it doesn't stick.
That's just poor software programming if you ask me.

Are talking about the nav quad of the home screen? If so, this is a known bug since V3.0.2. There is a wrokaround to get it back. Simply set a route, drive for a few seconds, and then cancel the route. It will be back. It does disappear again after any reboot/master reset though. Just use the workaround to get it back (or wait about 7 days, then it seems to come back on its own).

If this is the bug your are talking about, V3.5.1 seems to have fixed it. At first I thought it didn't but I did a master reset a couple of days after my dealer installed V3.5.1 and it was back after that. I have also done one reboot since then and it was back immediately. Seems to be fixed.

Cool! Thanks. That is what I was looking for and to answer your question, yes, the Home Screen navigation square - with the compass.

So V3.5.1 is dealer installed only, right?
And does it require that they replace the SD navi-data card in the process?
