2013 S mode? dct
Sorry if this thread has been mentioned somewhere else but I just got my 2013 se hatchback. Now I saw on some other cars with the sport package there was an S mode with selectshift buttons. Now I know I dont have the selectshift as mine has the hill descent mode instead. My question is does my transmission have any sort of sport mode? Mine has an L mode as the last position on the shift column. Or does this function as a traditional L range like an auto transmission?

So basically its pretty much the same as an S mode without the selectshift buttons? I was just worried about trying it out since I know an actual automatic transmission should only be placed in L mode during low speeds.

Pretty much it is S mode minus the select shift button for manual mode.

Nice! that's exactly what I was hoping for! I'm glad I can enjoy the sporty feeling of S mode as well!

L or "Low" position provides maximum engine braking, allows for downshifting to the lowest available gear for the current vehicle speed, and is not intended for use under extended or normal driving conditions. Driving the vehicle while in Low also results in lower fuel economy. Be advised that Low is not Sport mode; if you have any additional questions you can consult your dealer or download a copy of your Owner's Manual here: https://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conte...OwnerGuidePage Thanks, Crystal

You can turn the traction control off for the sporty feel you are looking for.

turning the hill assist on is like sport mode, NOT putting it in L. just wanted to clarify that for anybody who might of misunderstood. but with hill assist on and traction control off the car feels totally different. Again Not L, but hill assist. lol

There is no steering wheel buttons on the S to turn off traction control. Do they get a switch?
