He has the 125k mile extended warranty, but he also has the $125 deductible even if they don't find anything wrong. So even though it should be covered Ford has been less than forthcoming with fixing the car or even determining that there is an actual physical mechanical problem in his case. Sounds like there might be bad seals and oil contamination, but they don't want to fix it period. That seems par for the course apparently. Not good.

Redngreedy, if we talking about same thing that leaked. I doubt you had a leak there, maybe it's made up receipt. How it CANNOT leak if trans and engine connection not tight.
If iam not mistaken its just bolt on attachment without gasket.
I did have a similar leak on old 03focus when pump seal broke, oil everywhere. DCT trans different but doubt it's totally different attachment.

How many seals are there,.? Thought its 2on axles and 1on clutch assembly .
Any of those will give you VISIUAL symptoms. Unless I'm wrong.
It's not hydraulic trans to have pressure tight components.

There is a seal on the transmission shaft/ case facing the bell housing/ clutch area that has been known to have issues to the point of there being a TSB being issued about it. NO it would not necessarily give visual symptoms if the leak is sufficiently slow and contained within the housing. That's the problem, they want to see an external leak to find evidence of an internal leak.

There have also been rear main seal leakage issues on a few cars which has also destroyed the clutch pack.

I don't know how many seals there are precisely as I didn't work on the gearbox and I haven't been pouring through the service manuals at the moment, but I do know there is a TSB about at least one particular seal leak.

I see what you mean.
Is there way to look on it if I pull starter out. Go in with flash light or I have inspection snake camera? I would give it a shot to do so on these long upcoming weekends. Of course if you guys say if its possible to find out without pulling trans of the engine.

What about vacuum or pressure test,.? By using vent as your port!! Sounds crazy but that might work, axles are accessible and if nothing on them then it's internal bleeding.

There were 3 seals changed on mine. I can scan the ticket and post if you'd like to see all the parts that were used.

According to the TSB it's 2 halfshaft seal kits, an input shaft seal (inner) and an input shaft seal (outer).

I don't think that they'll necessarily give you visual symptoms as it doesn't take much oil to affect the clutches and there is also a seal on the outside of the bell housing. So there could be a oil just sitting in the bell housing and not leaking, like the OP states in this thread:

So, no - it's not hydraulic tight - but it's also not under hydraulic pressure.

Before I had this done, if I let off of the brake the car would lurch forward making it a pain in the ass for traffic jams or a drive thru. I can tell the trans is a lot better far as shifting at higher rpms. I'll update as improvements/problems come up.
