Car topped out...Help

So today i had the sudden urge to actually open my car up and stop babying it. Well i was pretty unsatisfied when i looked down and my car topped out at . How would i go about taking my gov off to reach higher speeds that i know my car is capable of?

Roughly the $400 range give or take. Don't remember off hand. FSWerks or Tom Sell em as well as a few other companies I think.

Is it tune myself? Like one i plug into my car and clear it out or is it where i have to take it to them and they do it for me?

It's more your gearing that will limit you as a bit more hp just gets you there quicker but it would take a significant gain to actually gain more top speed. My Eclipse topped out at it's drag limited speed with it's stock 195hp so it wasn't faster with almost 400hp but it attained it's top speed in nearly the 3rd of it's stock time.

Yes, they will sell you a custom tune that you will flash yourself. They will send you an xcal3 preloaded with a tune and will be able to remotely tune you when you provide them with datalogs. They will be able to fine tune and adjust their original tune accordingly from there.

One of the parameters they can change is your ecu governed max speed (or remove it altogether.) That may be useful for track use but not for much else. The main benefits of a tune are increased drive-ablity and performance through the normal ranges and speeds you typically see every day. Please stay safe and responsible on public roads
