Victim to a (almost) hit and run

My apartment complex security guy knocked on my door about a half hour ago. He let me know some broad just hit my car and tried to leave and he stopped her. [I would've used the word "lady" if it applied]. She backed into my right front bumper doing paint damage and popping it out from the fender. It looks like she may have misaligned the fender as well. It's dark and reading the lines with a Maglight can be deceiving. I'll post some pics tomorrow after the sun pops up. I guess I can't have nice thing. SONVABITCH!! (sorry)

just be careful when it gets fixed. my car was rear ended and had a small scratch on the back. their insurance paid for it ($497) and when i traded in my focus the car fax report stated my car was moderately damaged... so the dealership tried to lowball me on it because of that.

As a security guard, +1 to the guard at your place. He was in the right place at the right time. It would go a log way towards making his day if you thanked him or told his boss about the good job he did. It goes a long way for us :)

Hope it works out for ya man, always sucks having crap like that happen. Good news is her insurance will pay for it.

You know what, Mat? I'll do that. She didn't have her insurance or registration with her, but she had Geico on the phone and we went over and processed everything. As it turns out she lives somewhere in the complex and her relative just moved in below me Friday.

I'd be asking his boss what he's into and throwing a small gift his way. Definite props to him for being diligent about his work.

Regardless, that does suck.

wow. what the hell was she doing? probably putting on make up and talking on her phone while reversing.

Let's see; 24 y/o female, 6 year old kid in the backseat, an SUV far too big for her needs...you're probably right. My favorite part is she tried getting mouthy with ME when i threw her under the bus about taking of while I was talking to her insurance representative.
