I'm sitting at my dealership now while they install the update. When they did the 3.0.2 update they ended up having my car for 4 days. Hopefully it will go better this time. Right now they are at the 90 minute mark.

I hoe this starts to fix things but I'm not too hopeful. I've have been working with Ford Corporate customer service and many of the suggestions that I've been given to help things either haven't helped or are crazy.

I was told to keep my song library under 1000 songs on my iPod, this hasn't helped with freezing, and it means that having my iPod Classic in the car is pretty pointless.

I was just told they are closing out the paperwork on my car so I will find out soon if things are improved.

You're right, that is crazy. Absolutely ridiculous. I have an iPod Classic in my car with just over 6,200 songs and it does not freeze.

I have 24,000 tracks on my classic. The system freezes even if I have it disconnected though.

Well, the update was installed, I used nav on the way home, they have cleaned up some thing. It tried to index my iPod for a 40 minute drive home and still hadn't completed when I got here.

The system had glitch as I exited the freeway almost to my house. I was on the Nav screen and it just suddenly kicked back to the home screen on it's own, and park of the upper right quadrant didn't redraw correctly, then when it updated the street in the upper right quadrant it overlaid the new street name on top of the old one, so it was two layers of garbled text. Switching to the nav screen manually cleared the issue.

Shuffle on the iPod is still buggy. When I started up it was on repeat all with no shuffle. I tried to enable shuffle all three time and it wouldn't engage. I then disabled repeat, which took a couple of tries. I was able to get it to take by first doing repeat one, then going back and doing repeat off. After this I went back to shuffle and shuffle all, didn't work, so I tried shuffle album, and it engaged and then after that I was able to enable shuffle all. Finally I went back and was able to get repeat all turned back on. It only took about 5 minutes to get shuffle all and repeat all to both be turned on.

Sigh. I don't think I've ever regretted buying a car as much as I regret buying this one.

I just got a text from my salesperson (personal friend from college). He said they had to completely reset my sync system (not sure what that means). I did a master reset and the upgrade to 3.5.1 the other day. I'll find out in a few hours as much as I can. He claims they told him it sounds much better now but I'm thinking it'll be the same.

Well, let us know if it actually does sound better (and also, if you can find out, what the heck "compleletly reset sync system" means).

24,000 tracks, wonder if you are pushing it past the 15,000 "grammar object" limit? Mine takes about 25 min to index/BVC with 6,200 tracks (did w/3.0.2 and seems to take just as long w/3.5.1)

So he texted me back that on the notes for my "repair" they said the software was never properly installed.... Ohhhh k.

I've had 3.5 for a week, and I'm impressed. No glitches whatsoever. I can use voice commands for everything. I have a 32gb usb thumb drive that plays and shuffles correctly. I also have a sd card inserted that works just as well. Bluetooth stereo connection has worked perfect. I even got my wife's itouch to connect via bluetooth with medadata displayed. I have now been able pair to 2 HTC Rezounds to my system and switch back and forth. Text messaging works intially , but now says unsupported. It's done this on every version that I've had. I do not understand how it can work , and then suddenly stop. My phone is listed as not capable of bluetooth messaging, but works after every master reset for some reason. I am glad I did the install. Took about a hour, and had no issues whatsoever doing the install my self (no nav).

Ok so after calling my wife, mother, and brother all three said they noticed a big improvement in sound quality. Here is what was done on my car. Gotta love whoever typed this up.
