I did NOT know that =-) lol. I painted mine years ago, along with my door handles. I had many pro's tell me that they were impossible to paint and the paint would NEVER stick. I bought some "bully spray?" (Still have the can I'd have to double check the name/product)or something like that. My buddy who worked at a paint supply shop told me about it. It "makes paint stick to stuff" (it's what the can says on it) and I put a couple coats on then painted and cleared. Looked GREAT. Now it's 3 or 4 years later the clear is coming off so I need to respary them to get back to shine. I want the foldable option of the ST/SVT mirrors.

I sanded and painted my OEM mirror caps with rusteoleim perfect match, they have lasted over a year now, with no chips. You cannot even tell they were ever textured. Another member here painted her state flag on her OEM non-SVT mirror caps as well. I don't see why anybody has a problem with doing this. Just took a few coats of primer and a little sanding in between coats - not that hard

i did notice i could pop those things out , did you sand it by hand? what should i use to do this , and i assume rustoleum perfect match is self explanatory , where can i get this in my color? is it rattle-can?

Any auto parts store carries it, look for the paint code on your door, it should be a 2 letter code and just match it up to the rattle cans. Yes I sanded after I applied plastic primer going from a 400 all the way to 1000 grit. Sand between coats and keep stepping up the sandpaper to a finer grit each time. Clear it in the same manner, but use1500 grit between coats of clear, followed by a rubbing compound and wax a week later

bad thing is my driver side door is from a diff car and the stickers are gone. can i get it from the vin? its that light silver color.

so no sanding before prime? then prime,sand from 4 to 1000 and then paint , clear , sand with 1500 , then reclear????? sorry about all the questions , just wanna make sure iv got these instructions correct so i can do this right the first time.
