MFT 3.5 Bluetooth oddity

hmm, yeah, i didn't have any drop outs on my way into work this morning as well. maybe the master reset fixed it. I've got a 3 hour drive this weekend so that'll be a great test :D

My setup is an iphone 5, spotify premium, bluetooth only. I hope this is just a fluke because aside from this MFT is working better with my phone now than it ever has in the past. Metadata updates correctly and my phone stays paired for once. Anyone have some experience with issues like these? Also, please don't turn this into a Android vs iphone or a Microsoft blame game thread.

I only listen to music in the car via BT streaming and use Spotify Premium on a 4S with iOS 6.0.1 (latest). I haven't experienced #2 but #1 has happened both on 3.0.2 and on 3.5.1. It's infrequent but can happen after the first 30 seconds of operation. A song will start to lag and then skip, sometimes repeatedly and changing the track won't help. It's often just one skip but it has skipped/lagged for ~10-20 seconds before (on 3.0.2). So far on 3.5.1, I've only experienced a single skip, randomly, every once in a while. I have yet to figure out what is causing it but doing a quick reset on the phone (power button+home button) will fix it temporarily. I thought it may be a phone network connection issue but it's never skipped while off Bluetooth before.

Where the hell do I get MFT 3.5.1? I am currently running 3.2.2 and my upgrade to that went without a hitch. I didnt have the Climate issue that a lot of people here had. Do I have to go to the Dealer to get the update to 3.5.1? I have went to SMR.com and it is not showing an available update for me.

If you don't have navigation, you can update it yourself here. Click on the link in the PDF file. *Ford recommends that a dealer does this update so do it at your own risk.*

If you do have navigation, you will need to go to a dealer because it requires a new navigation card (A4). Some dealers may require you to prove you have an issue with your current version that 3.5.1 fixes. Some may not and will update it for you with no hassles.

But like I said, the new version does not fix the audio skip problem while using Spotify. Who knows, maybe Spotify is the problem.

I experience this playing from a USB stick so not sure the problem is a BT problem or more fundamentally a streaming data through the codec problem...
