Thanks, but that thing took 4-5 hrs, so it's a one-off

Just wanted to show it could be done. If I had CNC equipment, I'd consider it. I think the best thing is still to find something from another vehicle that works.
Hope my roof holds up to the wardrobe weight now !

Thanks Seriously.
Ford could make that out of plastic (like the stock one) and it would pass safety tests. Whoever designed the stock ones must never hang anything in their car.

Yeah, great job!

So, these screw into the sheet metal or clip into the headliner?

If sheet metal I would assume they could hold a bit of weight, but if only hanging off the headliner I dont know if I want to find a replacement and put everything on it.

For now, I lay dry cleaning across the back seat, or sometimes hook stuff to the passenger headrest post.

The attaching screw goes into a speednut that is clipped to an inner metal shell under the roof. The headliner doesn't take any of the weight. I don't anticipate any strength issues, but if any problems come up (or down

), I'll post.
I'm still getting used to having a good hook. When I put something on the rear seat behind where things are hanging, I'm still thinking I'm going to knock something off the original hook !

Somewhere I've seen a collapsible bar with loops on each end that you hang across the two hooks in back. Then you can hang your dry cleaning and such. I'll have to talk the wife into looking for one for me.

I miss the large hooks in my Expedition.
