Well after several fill ups after the dealer looked at my car for a MPG issue. I'm in luck, I went from 29 to 32 MPG to 26 to 28 mpg. Doing the same driving. Would like to thank Ford for costing me even more money then the price of the car. Goes to show they can definitely change the fuel mileage on a car, to bad it is for the worst. I'm Frustrated and it really sucks. At the point now I regret I bought the car. Can't get gas mileage and they still can't get a simple update out for the MFT on top of it all.
Thanks for listening to me rant as a make another car payment. :(

They just did a check up from what I understand. They hook it to the computer and check for codes and aparently tire pressure(that was the only issue they found was one tire was two pounds low). Not sure what is next. I just email a ford rep from Detroit today that has talked to me, and waiting on a reply for the next step. I'm not sure what test they are talking about. I would ask them what test they will perform and if you pay to have the test done do you get your money back when they find something wrong. Let me know what you find out, I will post if I hear anything on my end.

I talk to the dealer yesterday. Told me unless the car is throwing some kind of check engine light or I had a specific issue they could look into that there was nothing they could do about the MPG's. He said as far as the test they performed, they can see everything the car is doing. If a o2 sensor was malfunctioning in the least little bit, the car would throw a alarm. The injectors can only be read if they fire or not and not how much they put out. But if they put out to little or too much the O2 sensors would be able to pick that up. At this point I am baffled. After five tanks after the dealer looked at it, it appears my mileage is slowing going back up to where it was when I took it in. Still low in my opinion. The tech seemed very sincere and tried to explain as much as he could. Not sure what to do now but hope something breaks and shows the problem.

That said, I live in a flat part of the country (Central Illinois) and I get 27-29 city and 36-40 interstate (65-70mph). Most of my interstate variation is due to winds with or against me since it is almost always breezy here.

Hey, wanted everyone to know with less then 20% city driving and no change to my normal weekly driving. With the temp outside dropping to 28 degrees(night) and 50 degrees(Days). I am now getting 23.8 mpg. No help from FORD Rep. or the dealership. I guess when it get down in the teen during the day I will be able to get better mileage out of my V-8, 5.4 liter F-150 then my freak'in Focus!

During winter months, drivers may experience lower fuel economy due to a number of factors:
To make sure you get the most out of the fuel in your car, there are five simple things you can do: Maintain Proper Tire Inflation Improve your gas mileage by around 3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Use Recommended Grade of Oil Improve your gas mileage by 1-2% by using the manufacturer's recommended grade of motor oil and with a synthetic blend to improve viscosity. Keep Engine Properly Tuned Fixing a car that is noticeably out of tune or has failed an emissions test can improve mileage by an average of 4%. Making sure your oxygen sensor is working properly can improve mileage by as much as 40%. Change Air Filter Replacing a clogged air filter improves your gas mileage by as much as 10%. Perform Regular Maintenance Improving the fuel economy of your vehicle starts with regular maintenance at your local Dealership. Following the maintenance schedule is an easy way to optimize your vehicle's fuel economy. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Crystal

So that's all good information. So all of that may equal out to a 1 to 2 mpg difference. Not the 10 mpg difference I am getting. I sould be getting 30 to 32 NOT 23.8. No if you can find a way to justify that I would really like to hear the answer. I'm looking for anything I can look at to find a solution. If you read eairlier post from me, this is the car that got 29 mpg on a trip from kalamazoo, mi to Chicago, il all highway miles. The car was looked at by the dealership and have not seen 30 mpg's but once since then. And steadly getting worse. But thanks for the reply but I've all ready been through all those excuses.

But that would only affect certain/occasional trips... not all.
