want to buy new wheels...need info!

Hey guys...i was going to buy coils and go lower but now i think i just wanna buy some wider rims...probably some cobra reps or something. Any suggestions for a wide stance...im running some 17 x 7 rims with 205/40 tires. dont know the offset....if i can get some suggestions on which rims are maybe 17 x 9 and a offset that will fit correctly on my car. thanks

There aren't any 17x9 wheels that will fit on your car without lots of fender work, camber arms in the rear, camber plates up front and you'll need to buy those coilovers you are seemingly giving up to get wheels.

If you want to get wider wheels then so be it, but on stock suspension 7.5" is really as wide as you'll want to go. As you go lower (and your suspension gets stiffer) you can get wider and wider wheels.

thanks so if i do get coils first...then which camber plates and arms are the best to get? fswerks?

Yeah those will definitely work, but only with coilovers that utilize an aluminum top hat instead of the stock strut bearings. So for instance, H&Rs and Tein Super Street coils will work, while KW V1s and ST Suspension coils will not. At least, not without some modifications.

You can try to find KMACs or LCR camber plates, but they're more expensive and much more scarce.

The other downside to the FSWerks plates is you have to cut out the metal that your front suspension attaches to inside the engine bay and then weld the plates onto the car. Great for a race car or a car you plan to have forever, not so good if its just a car.

For the rear, any camber arms will work really. I have SPC arms, Massive makes some, among others.

Then you'll need to roll your fenders substantially with a roller, and then pull them by hand from there.

Yes, but you need to buy the aluminum hats they sell as well in order for them to work.
