2012 Titanium Front Strut Low Speed Noise (Clunk/Rattle)

How can it be that most if not all earlier builds dont have the reinforcing plate but Mistofoleez has it? When I read about the reinforcing plate I though ok sounds like another silent update from Ford.. Maybe this one does the trick.. Waiting to hear of new TSB incl reinforcer plates...

Actually, judging from my survey, it's looking more like the reinforcing plates were originally spec'd for the '12+ Focus, but for some reason or another, they were removed from spec sometime around 5/11 production, and didn't reappear until late August 2012 production for both the ST and the regular 2013 Focus.

My credit card wedged under the tower brace is holding up very well after a week. I only hear the clunk when I really hit a harsh bump, and its between 45 and 65 degrees outside and the car is cold. Before the credit card that would mean it would sound like driving down the street in a model T ford or vintage farm tractor. Constant clunking/rattle on every few revolutions of the wheels.

I was looking for the picture of the credit card, but was unable to find it .. I am curious if it looks the same as mine.. I tinker so trying things out to fix a problem is always my plan of attack .. The dealer could not fix it so i will see if i can find it and guide the dealer to it ... Wanna try the cc thing tho...

a clunk of metal on metal or rubbery or wht? how loud is it? I don't have it so im trying to get a handle on what's happening to u guys.

The SE sports package doesn't modify the suspension; it'll be the same as the other 2012 SE models. If you'd like, I'm happy to get your case escalated to your regional customer service manager.
