Help!!! HID lights for 08 SES
So I decided to go ahead and buy HID lights for my 08 Ford Focus SES. I replaced the headlights and the fog lights. Now when I bought the HID kit it did not come with brackets for the ballast. After I installed them they worked just fine. But not a week goes by when my right head light goes out. I try to look at it and all I hear is a second long noise like a "eeerr" coming from the right ballast when I turn my lights on. I switch the right ballast to replace the left one to see if it works and it did! So its not a ballast issue. The only thing I can think of is the bulb?? And just tonight my left fog light went out and its making the same "errr" noise! Any suggestions? Also I noticed my lights flicker off for a second when I am driving over some bumpy roads. I just need to figure out what to do. Also ant tips in general when it comes to installing HID light for a 08 focus ses?? Any help is much appreciated!

may i ask where did you buy your kit from?
a ton of em are pretty crappy . iv had bulbs that were bad outta the box . but if you are putting these into stock light housings id advise you just put halogen bulbs back in . the stock housings dont project the light properly . which actually degrades output while blinding oncoming traffic. but if you must have it then i suggest you order a new kit from someone like the retrofit source . and if you have the money , then do a proper projector retrofit so your not bothering others on the road . they also look and perform great Sent from my N860 using FF Mobile |

im unsure of the quality of that companys products ,
here is the link to the website , now they sell complete retro-fit kits that include everything ie: projectors , bulbs , ballasts, relays and whatever else is needed , but i will warn you that this is quite a bit of work and could quickly become overwhelming to someone who isnt up to the task , hence the advisment on returning to stock bulbs. but if you feel your up to it then you will have some badass lighting when you are done, and its kinda fun to do stuff like this imo. |

My guess is a bad resistor or fuse. Most of the companies cheap out on hardware even if the ballasts and bulbs are good.

^ What he said! The solution to your problem is this
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=227 Which will turn your crappy plug and play hids that blind everyone ![]() Into ones with nice cutoffs and better output ![]() ![]() ![]() Ever since I did this, No issues at all (if anyone does it make sure you do the morimoto mini h1 pre installation which sands down the solenoid plunger so it won't ever stick on you) And ever since I did it plug and play kits piss me off ![]() And the nice cutoff that won't blind everyone ![]()

are you using a relay wiring harness? one ballast is being starved of current as the other ballast ignites. usually when you here the buzzing you should be able to see some arcing takingplace inside the bulb. sometimes this happens on my cheap-o ebay fogs because i do not have a harness for them. simply turning them off, waiting a few seconds and turning them back on gets them both to fire. my harnessed morimoto headlights have never had a problem igniting.
