Ask them how come then, if Ford doesn't even want people to see the version you have or drive away with the version you have, it is OK for you to be stuck with that version. That doesn't seem right.

It is ridiculous but they said the BT issue may be related to something else (a module or something) that 3.5.1 doesn't cover. I've only spoke to them over the phone but they said to just bring it in and they'll decide if they can fix it without the update or not. Someone said earlier that dealers do this because Ford won't reimburse them unless they do "repair" work and not just updating because the customer wanted it.

True. It is a TSB, not a recall (well, not a recall for customers that already have their cars) so it is at the dealer's discretion but the list of issues the TSB addresses are: "concerns with navigation, voice recognition, call sound quality, phone pairing and/or system performance." Find a car with MFT that doesn't have at least one, if not all, of those issues.

Hopefully when they look at yours they will determine you could benefit from it. Installing a simple update seems like less of a PITA than having them keep your car while they replace hardware!

Fortunately I don't have the NAV option, it was too expensive. I'd rather use Google maps, it's free and reliable.

Is there a part number on this nav card? Depending on the price, I might just buy the card separately and avoid the whole leaving-the-car-at-the-dealership-just-to-get-turned-away ordeal. Though, I'd still like the TSB that fixes the radio changing to random stations after changing sources/ hanging up the phone. That I can replicate. I suppose I can also replicate the 2 sources highlighted at once (FM radio + Bluetooth) issue...

I believe someone that had their MFT updated to 3.5.1 by their dealership indicated that this issue with the Random Station change after ending a call was still present with this update.

Yes, but there's another separate TSB that fixes it.

My dealer could not find anything for my car but was going to look into it for me. They didn't see any recalls about it.

They are not recalls, they are Technical Service Bulletins(TSB's).

Yeah I'm not sure they knew exactly what I was telling them about. I told them it was a bulletin but they kept saying recall

Makes you feel better they had my car today for 8 hours, for both this TSB and TSB 12-10-15.... Anddddddddd they didnt do anything, because only 1 manger was on duty and i guess the tech never told him to sign off on it. SO i get to go back Wednesday to do it all over again.....
