I have never posted tuning numbers for a tune , No 2 Foci are the same so no 2 will make the same power , the ST the cooler it is the more power it makes
I am sure you will see a lot of dynos coming out from tuners on the ST , please dont think your will make the same power as no shop is going to post an Avg. there going to post the highest dyno # they can to sell the most tunes I dont and wont do this to my customers , I will get you the most power I can but with engine safety first I have been tuning on this Forum for almost 10 years with very very little customer issues , I offer more Customer Service then any other tuner out there , you cant go wrong with a Focus-Power Tune Tom

Ford still has no way of telling if you have tuned the Ford ECU , I would ALLWAYS take the Custom Tune out and go back to stock any time you take your Focus to Ford if nothing more then if they do an update which there will be a lot of you would then lock your xcal and have to ship it back to SCT with a copy of a work order

I need BOOOOST!!!!!!
|
how much boost does the ST make stock and how much boost is the stock turbo good for before it just becomes a little heat machine? and do we know anything about how much boost the ST engine will be able to take before stuff starts to break? like the pistons and rods on the old zetec for example?
ive been toying with the idea of getting rid of some cars for months and just having 3 cars instead of 6. 1 new car for reliability and daily driving, my pickup truck for moving, towing and working, and then my play toy/project zx3. i test drove a ST a few months ago and was really disappointed in it. god forgive me but i test drove a hyundai veloster turbo that i liked better. it was as much if not more comfy and roomy up front with a slight sacrifice on room and comfort in the back but not by much, it handled better, it FELT faster even though it should not be, and it was cheaper, not to mention that the warranty was better on the hyundai. however, if i could squeeze 300hp or more out of the ST without voiding my warranty for the price of a tuner and tune i would definitely go with that instead i think. i never did find out and never thought to ask at the dealership. does the ST have any sort of factory LSD? i found out in a hurry that the veloster does NOT have LSD. 1 wheel wonder all day every day.

I don't really know much tech-wise about the new ST, but I do remember reading a couple of articles that outlined a system the ST has whereby the ABS system is somehow used to mimic a Torsen-type differential, applying slight braking to the inside wheel in a turn to give the outside wheel "more power". That would lead me to belive the differential itself must be open. |

It does indeed have an e-diff. It's mechanically open, but uses braking to controls traction. Nowhere as good as a true LSD, but for daily driving it does the job well. A true LSD will blow it away on the track though.
