new to me '02 ZX3 - normal problems?

from what research ive done the stock ends on the focus are not normal bushing type like most shifters its a plastic coupler on a plastic pivot ball and it just snaps on and looks like almost no dealers will get just the cable ends you have to get the whole cable (what i was told)

For that shifter issue, check out what this guy did; there's a piece like that on your MTX75, so it stands to reason you should be able to tighten that up too.
