Help please, opinions on wheels and lowering

I would like to have some opinions on how low is too low for a daily driver. and what kit should I use. I also would like opinions on rims for my 2007 white zx3 with blacked out windows.

The most cost effective drop would be to use the 00-05 FRPP 1.5" drop springs and SVT shocks and struts (about 300.00 from Tousley Ford). You will also need the Omni Kit by Massive. This kit allows the use of the 00-05 front struts and springs on a 06+ car. It costs just under 100.00. Unfortunately there just aren't a lot of lowering kits for the 2nd gen Focus. Those that are available tend to cost a lot more as well. Tirerack and CFM carry some kits for your car. Just remember you want both springs and shocks to do it correctly.

As for wheels, Tirerack has lots of good ones at decent prices. What we need to know to help you further is the tire size your interested in using. That will determine the wheel size, offset, etc. Tirerack has a nice feature where you can see each wheel on your car. If you're interested in their products, they can deliver the wheels with new tires already mounted and balanced (no extra cost for the balancing/ mounting and provided lug nuts) to your door ready for installation.

I would not go lower than 1.5"
I would not use wheels larger than 17"
I would not use wheels wider than 7"

I'd figure out= How are your roads? How much $? How low do you want to go? As far as wheels/ tires go thats up to you= look thru the showroom section. I'd do the suspension 1st then the wheel/tires. A popular combo is using SVT wheels= a few varies styles. 17x7 using a 215-45x17 tire. There are more suspension kits for the '00-'05 models, so you'll need to get Massive's omni kit to get one of thou's kits. The springs & struts don;t interchange between the earlier & later models. And what ever you do= DON'T DO SPRNG'S ONLY. You need the proper dampers to go w. the lowering springs. Read the stickies at the top of this section= loads & loads of info to read.

mines a daily driver and its lowered about 1.5" and is sitting on 17" rally rims and it works quite well on the interstate for long trips and going back and forth to work

Well how low do you want to go and what type of driving will you be doing? There are plenty of people that daily drive really low cars (2"+) and are happy campers. I have an '07 with a 1.5" and while I think its a huge improvement over stock (handles much better than stock as well) I could see myself going lower. If you have a larger budget and want versatility to go lower or higher, I'd also suggest look at coilovers and have the choice to lower or raise your car.

An easy starting place for wheels, like what other suggested and go with a set of used SVT wheels. They look nice and can be found used at a good price. www.tirerack.com will also have other sets you can look at that will fit your car (we have a slightly uncommon bolt pattern and offset, 4x108 and et40-50)

I have no wheel gap with coilovers and never rub so I don't think I'm too low
