SYNC never gets it right on first try...

After starting my car each time, my SYNC system never operates correctly on the first try. "Betty" always asks and listens for my voice command, which I clearly speak. But after I speak, SYNC give what sounds like a half-beep and the screen defaults back to the PHONE REDIAL screen and does nothing. If I activate SYNC again and repeat the procedure, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Any ideas why and what I can do to correct this?

How soon after starting the vehicle are you giving a command? The SYNC system needs time to detect and connect to your phone.

I recommend checking your SYNC Owner account for an available software update:

If you're currently running the latest, I suggest an alternative pairing process. Certain phones are known to hold the best connection when they're Reverse Paired. Instead of the usual process of your phone finding SYNC, SYNC will find your phone. Before doing so, you'll want to perform a Master Reset on your system. This will restore settings to factory defaults, but should help with the issue you're experiencing. Instructions for both processes are below.
