Looking more at your first generation Kuda. James, I think they are made different now, mine does not stick out like yours does, not bashing it or anything, I think that Kuda might have re-designed it. Either way, yours looks awesome, a great way to add an OEM+ smartphone mount to your ride!

How does the phone clip attach to the Kuda? The ones I'm looking at don't come with a mount...

Kuda sells mounts to go with their base for just about all phones. If you don't like the ones that they sell, just buy the base like I did and get a mount elsewhere. I used just the top portion of a universal cupholder smartphone mount. I had to drill a hole in the Kuda base to attach the mount to it. All phone mounts have a different way of attaching, once you find the mount that you want, you might have to get creative with it to attach it to the Kuda.

I do quite like the way you attached the mount compared to Kuda's "adhesive" mount.

Now I just need to find a mount to fit the iPhone 5. ><

The mount that I am using can hold an iPhone 5. It also comes with bigger "feet" to hold larger things as well.

But with the headphone jack on the bottom won't it be covered by the mount's feet?

The feet at the bottom will be at the corners if the iPhone so yeah they would cover the headphone jack, but if you have a USB in your HU, you won't have a problem. Besides, the sound quality is improved if you run it on USB
