I have an issue that I had been trying to study over the Internet for some time now. I was thinking of doing a FS Werks stage 2 intercooled turbo kit on my focus automatic with coming up on 37,000 miles, but I don't want to ruin my transmission or trade in my car for a manual even though I prefer a manual. With the kit I would do 6 psi and have a oil cooler and transmission cooler with upgraded electric dual fans. Could I do this? And instal it all in my garage or do I need a dyno tune it, even though there is a special hand held tuner that comes with this kit? I also drive this car every day from school to work and other places.

why not to go with manual- it is even more fun- just my opinion

the hand held tuner allow Randy to tune it for you. It just requires you to datalog what hapens when your driving, email that file to randy, download the new tune to yuor handheld and load that to the car. repeat until dialed in.

Now, the trans cooler isa good call, but Id also suggest an upgraded valve body. With the hand held tuner, Randy can also change shift points and pressure to make the trans last as long as possible.

FS werks says that can do a specific tune to my standards with the kit for free, I just want to know if my automatic transmission can take 6 psi and is it worth it to turbo my focus or just wait to get a new car in a few years. If I go turbo ill keep the car longer

you can run 6 psi all day. I know a couple guys running 8 psi with an auto. You really don't need a tranny cooler and fans. You could use that money toward something else.
