There is an o ring on the bottom of that tube. Might just be that. Try taking out the tube and see if the o ring is damaged.
Let us know if thats it. |

O ring definitely damaged... NAPA didn't have properly sized replacement. Had to use ATV...it's holding for now but not putting a lot of stock in it, haven't "driven" the car yet. Hard thing is that I found out the tube itself is bent ever so slightly. Tried bending it back but no quite right. Will check the dealer & see if they carry the O ring.. does anyone know if the stock or stock replacement O rings are green??? My damaged one is green & I've never seen a green one before.... thanks!

Well, I drove the car today. All seemed to be ok this afternoon. Drove it around the block, ATV holding just fine. Drove it to work, then drove it home...on the way developed a 'stutter'. Couldn't figure it out until a little bit down the road and POOF!! Greyish smoke out the back. I wasn't smelling anything, but it was too late. HEAD GASKET!!! Looked at the valve cover vent tube....Milky white goo. Will have to sleep on this....
