I really don't like where that new switch is located. Since I have to reach for the fogs every time I turn the headlamps on, I can see my self getting fogs on and hatch popped all in the same blind reach. If they truly wanted to satisfy the scenario as tech1000 described, we would need the Escape's kick open feature, and an open assist from the struts.

Short answer is I highly doubt it would work at all for your car.
I think the new button is standard on ALL 2013's. (I know SE's have it not just the Ti's). I don't think ANY 2012's had it (including the Ti's). So on your car, the only way it could possibly work would be if Ford included all the circuitry for it, intending to add it, and then scrapped the idea until 2013 b/c the switch wasn't available in time. It's theoretically possible, but not likely. |
