svt sub enclosure

Ok. I have searched.. I have googled.. I have looked around for everything..
I know there used to be a "How-to" on putting a 10" shallow mount sub in the svt enclosure.
Does anybody have a link to it?
If not, can somebody please fill me on the process. I know I will have to trim the mounting area some and seal the back of it.
But what else is there to it?

Its a pretty simple process. Basically, there is a lip that the sub mounts too that is recessed in slightly so that the sub sits flush with the box. Depending on the replacement box you buy, You will need to cut that lip off, or maybey trim it slightly smaller.

Also, some sub boxes have a pillar that pokes up from the back of the box. If your new sub is deeper than the 8", then you will need to chop that off and seal it.


Here are a few tips though:

1. If you are just upgrading the sub, and not the amp, you will not see much gains. Mostly sound quality. You can honestly just snag a better quality 8" and the results will be very similar with less work

2. If you are upgrading the sub and the amp, then you will quickly find that the SVT box isnt the greatest. If you really want some good thump and clear sound, then you will eventually want to upgrade to a custom box.

I will eventually make a custom box... Eventually.
I already have the "box" and just can't get myself to put the 100+ pounds back in my car, even though it hits harder than no other

ZX3 Dual Sub plans

Those are the plans I made for my setup, I made them to fit my dual 10"s, and they dont take up much more room than the stock, if you are projecty like me, you can build them in a day or two. They sound 100x better than the stock box.

sweet.. ideally, i was wanting to make boxes like this for my 12s.

i might build something like that still.. even though i just dropped a bill on my new sub. hmm...
now i have more options.. and that retains most of the hatch space. i was always worried about making a box for the passenger side with the fuel filler over there..

I dont know if those plans will fit 12"s. I'm running 2 Polk DB1040s powered by a Sound Ordinance M-4075. The output blurs vision and sounds amazing

My current set up does the same thing. You can feel the bass 40ft away from the car.
I might use the.box for my 10" & when I get my zx3, I will build those boxes. I wish I would have waited to buy the 10", but might as well use it.
