Upgrading audiophile sub

Im looking to upgrade the stock audiophile sub in my car. i want to use the stock enclosure because i need all of my trunk space. what would be the best sub/amp combo to do?

Why were you looking to upgrade?
You'd probably want to think about what you want the sub to do, then do some research on the different subs. Try the many car audio forums since there's probably a larger pool of experts there that have experience with a variety of sub/enclosures etc. If you are trying to fit a stock enclosure you'll probably restricted to what will fit either by the sub size or depth. Then there's the volume of the stock enclosure.

As for amp, something with enough power to power the sub I guess. And since you have a space restriction, something with a small footprint or runs cool so you can tuck it away.
I'm also doing some research but I don't have an enclosure so I'll end up having to make my own.

In my 2006 ST with factory sub I had my local stereo shop install an all new systems but keept the factory sub enclosure. They were able to fit in an 8 inch sub with some modifications. I would take it in to your local shop for an estimate and see what subs they have that would fit. You will need an amp as well cause the factory amp is too small to drive much bass...

Is there any way to fit a 10'' in it? Add some adapters or something? I'm sure anything is ultimately possible, but has anyone done it on SVT/ST Focus'??
