Since you brought it up... I HATE cars that have thick needles. Even the Focus seemed odd after coming from my Lincoln. The blue color is a bit odd at first, but it's better than red...

Question dial brightness not changing

In terms of the actual illumination level, I have an SEL and it has two button the panel dimmer controls.
However, when I tried to use this for the first time last night the only lighting level that appeared to change was the MFT lighting. The brightness of the dials didnt alter. Has anyone else experienced this?

Keep holding the button. It'll change...just slowly.

Gosh, you would think this was a discussion about GM/Pontiac during their "Fisher-Price" toy knobs phase....they were some nasty designs coming out of them in the late '80 into the '90s.

There are many in the Mk3 section whose expectations far exceed any semblance of reality.

Because some people here think they bought an Audi or something given their demands for how the car should work...

Cool Fix for Speedometer Cluster

Well, I finally got a Fix for my speedometer vision issue. I now drive like I did when I was 18. Just never look at the speedometer. Just Drive.... My old cars, most of the time the speedometer cable was broken. The Cops will tell me if I am going to fast. Plus, so far this is a Feel Free Fix, when I purchased a Cool Pair ($$$) of Shades !! Cruising in Fl.

Theres notches between the largest numbers, how hard is it to look and say oh its half between 40 and 60 must be going 50? If your having that much trouble seeing numbers you may want to actually see an optometrist. Ive never had an issue seeing black gauges with white lettering or the reverse. Its not like they are 6 point txt in cursive script. Its huge. I also dont see how you can have glare off a flat black dashboard, unless you have it lubed up with armoral which will do more harm then good anyways. Its very odd the things people complain about.

Also how can the aluminum glare on the steering wheel its forward facing the driver and well inside the roof lines shadow, unless your driving away from the sun at an off angle with un titned windows durning sunset, I cant even image then that the sun would be able to make it past the beltline of the car to hit the trim?

I guess the word should be reflection off the dash & also reflection from the defroster vent ribs, they reflect on the windshield. The polished steering wheel trim is a distraction when the sun shines on the trim.

My fix for the Reflection coming from the Ford Focus Dash was a Black Original Dash Mat from Covercraft. The fix for the polished steering wheel trim was 000 steel wool. And I only use the speedometer at Night. During the day-time my Dear Wife will tell me if I am Scaring her by driving to Fast. Plus The Cool Shades, Dark Tint on the windows and Anti Glare Film on the inside front windshield, all Help

And I do not like Carrots, so my Vision could be off or the eyeglasses I got from Goodwill, are for reading only.

But I am a Happy Focus Owner..... LitterBug ;-)
