2007 zx3 CAI intake issues??
hey..
i got a 2007 zx3 with cia that goes in the wheelwell.. when ever it rains it loses power an goes putputput..lol im thinkin the tube is too long and low an water gets into the filter any suggestions?? can i cut the pipe an bring up the filter maby?? |

Without knowing what brand of CAI you have, I can only show you what you would need:

The cai should be going towards the front bumper, more in front of the wheel well. There should be a splash shield on your car that will prevent water from hitting the CAI directly. The filter should not be getting wet to the point of its making your car lose power (or be sucking up water, that would be bad.)

Do you have the skid plate still installed? I have CAI on my 06 with the skid plate and inner fender well it's nearly impossible for that filter to get wet. I've been in some pretty hard rain storms and I've never had an issue. You cn always buy one of those rain socks and put around the filter.

great ideas. i think we can se the filter if i look under the car so im guessing theres not a skid plate or maby it fell off?? ..lol. but the sock im gonna look at or maby ill just make a skid plate and drill it on there.. but it is in front of the wheel just low i guess... thanks.
