Took it off for now - aiming to do some paint correction and get a coat of wax and sealant on for the winter sometime in the next couple weeks. It'll stay off for the winter.

I've also been putting in 150+ training miles a week since March, so, it's time to take a break from riding. Instead of riding this past weekend, I led my friend in his new FR-S on a 104 mile cruise through some of my favorite backroads. Let's just say that he was rather impressed with how well the Focus handled.

I do need a stiffer rear sway, though; I'm thinking one of the 32mm Mazdaspeed3 rear sways is in the future. And I still need to put in an order for my detailing products.

Also, the clunk seems to be coming back in my right front...

More clunk? Wtf?

This whole clunk thing really grates on my nerves. I'm hoping it isn't psychosomatic, but I would swear that mine got worse when I put my spacers on. Another contributing factor (for mine) could be the temp, but idk.

As always, and even without the rack, your car looks stunning

It's definitely temperature related, except this time it seems to get quieter as it warms up. Last time it got worse as the ambient temp rose. It's also on the same side again.

Makes me wonder if there's a possibility that the strut tower is deformed, allowing for an uneven loading of the bearing, leading to premature bearing failure. Who knows.

I do know that the new strut bearing had fixed the noise, temporarily. So, the failure is at the strut bearing level, but I'm not sure of the cause. I'll try lubing the bumpstop up with lithium grease again, just to see what happens.

I'm waiting to hear someone on the ST forums complain of clunking in the suspension. So far, I've seen nothing.

Bummer on the clunk coming back. My Cobalt used to have a clunk from the control arm bushings that kept coming back no matter how many times I changed the bushings. It was irritating to say the least.

Does anyone know what the size of the FRPP rear sway is? I'm thinking about do suspension on mine in the spring but I want to make sure I get it right the first time.

Did you have to use a centering ring on your Axis wheels? If so, any negative effects? Overall, what's your opinion of the Axis wheels and is there anything a potential purchaser of these wheels should be aware of? Thanks in advance.

Tire Rack supplies all mounting hardware with a wheel purchase (lugs, centering rings, centercaps).

So far, I have a pretty high opinion of these wheels. The only issue I really have is that the matte finish is a little tough to clean sometimes if you let dirt/grime sit on it. That's my fault, though, as I haven't treated the wheels with any kind of wax or sealant yet.

When I take them off for the winter, I'll be giving them a full cleaning and sealing them with a wheel wax.

Zillon, I have the same exact car: color, wheels, sport package, etc. I love the color. I was wondering what all is included in the sport package. Does it include any suspension upgrades? I bought mine used so I'm not sure what is included.

Thanks!

Thanks!
The SE Sport package included upgraded seating with larger bolsters and sport fabric, leather wrapped wheel, touring dampers and upgraded springs (same as the base Titanium non-handling suspension), rear disc brakes, alloy wheels, spoiler (sedan only).

The suspension is reported to have changed sometime during the production year, but there doesn't seem to be a distinct cutoff date.

Regardless, you got the best version of the Focus, IMO.
