My preferred weapon of choice:Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R M Spec Nur(named after the Nurburgring track where some of its lap times still stand to this day).

Any car nicknamed "Godzilla" means serious business!!!

I'd pick an '87 Buick GNX. I have always had a soft spot for those cars.

The Golf GTI. Let's say the current one, or the MQB platform one that's dropping in under two years. Let's see why.
  • 210bhp (220+ in the new one) and similar torque. The new one will be under 3000lbs.
  • 2 door or four door, take your pick.
  • Consistently at the top of enthusiast car magazine reviews for most of its model history, and pretty much invented the hot hatch segment
  • You will neither be pulled over, nor laughed at when showing up at a meeting due to its styling. It's agressive, but not boy-racer.
  • You can put stuff in the back. A LOT of stuff. And it has very comfortable, spacious back seats.
  • It's thrifty on both gas, and insurance. It's also extrmeely safe.
  • You can get one with practically every amenity imaginable. Chances are, if it's in an S-Class Merc or RS Audi, it's in some trim level of the GTI.
  • Did I mention plaid seats?
  • The ride, handling, and gearbox are all excellent. And unless you mod irresponsibly, the stock clutch will suffice too.
  • And if the power stats aren't up to your standards, there has always been, and will always be an amazing dearth of tuning options for it.

So if I had to choose one car, for free, and the responsibility for insuring, gassing it up, and otherwise running it were all on me, I'd have myself the GTI. It is an all-rounder you can actually live with and doesn't scream that you are either 1) Insane or 2) an enormous douchebag.
You have basically discribed a Honda civic Si.

Civic si's don't have every amenity possible, they don't have plaid seats, and they don't really respond well to bolt ons so I've heard.

I rather have a civic SI then a GTI imo.. even tho (looks at avatar) Im not much of a honda fan.. but IMO Honda still makes one of the most reliable platforms out there.. Idk if it was my sour patch when i had a VW but that bisch gave me headaches...

back to the topic..

honestly I would get an RS500 Focus or RS200

Nice! My buddy has one with some very minor bolt ons, and he was pulling low 13/high 12 passes all day. There is just something about them that I find attractive.
