Trans warning light
I learned not to back up a steep hill in the Hollywood Hills. When leaving a client's house with a crowded driveway and I figured I could just back it up to the rear entrance to the house and back out on the street I from which I entered. Nope. The warning chime came on and got the overheat message. Stopped and put it in drive and coasted back down the drive and on to the street leading to the residence. Shot back down to Sunset and then over to Benedict Canyon, up and over Mulholland, down Beverly Glen and back onto the San Fernando Valley. No issues at all. I drove on Mulholland to Laurel Canyon so I could have fun heading to the client's house. The grade I was trying to reverse on and leave was about 8%. Anyone else ever try to do this before? I drove the canyons tonight using S and noticed it would hold my gears better for me going up and down the hills. Is this from the sensor for the Hill Assist? Any ideas? Heading back again tomorrow night.

I believe the term for holding gears in S is "Grade Assist".
Here is a link (about the Fiesta) http://media.ford.com/article_displa...ticle_id=36083 "Grade Assist allows you to move down a slope at a comfortable speed, without having to use the brakes. " |

Completely unrelated, but the middle section of your post reminds me of this SNL skit: http://www.hulu.com/watch/350669
