Just reading about different cars with DCTs and trannies..

BMW's M5 was described by the NY Times:

Yet as with some recent BMWs, these cars have familiar issues, starting with their gasp-inducing window stickers: $123,345 for my option-rich M6 coupe test car (base price was $108,295, including the $1,300 gas guzzler tax); $127,095 for an M6 convertible (starting at $115,295); and $103,195 for the M5 ($91,695 base). Technological headaches include a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that stumbles like a wino in low-speed city maneuvers (though the M5 is available with a 6-speed manual).

Are there other cars out there that people know about with DCT issues?

I don't think you'll find any DCT's that don't stumble in low speed scenario's. Even Lamborghini's exhibit this trait.

Lamborghinis use a single clutch automated manual transmission, not dual clutch system, and therefore is even worse at low speed manuvers.

Well I suppose eventually when everybody has to have a DCT when they want a automatic car everyone will get used to this. lol

I kind of want my children to drive a (manual) muscle car at least once to realize what they're missing out on... you know, once every car is silent and driven by google.

Hyundai's EcoShift, Ford's Powershift (both dry and wet clutch), VWs DSG, Audis S Tronic (dual clutch) and R Tronic (single clutch), Lambos egear and ISR (both single clutch) as well as the units sitting in Ferrari's 458 (dual clutch), BMWs DCT and Porsche PDK...


...ALL SUCK SOME MEASURE OF BALLS at slow driving.

Obviously, things like the PDK, S Tronic and DSG are better since they have been at it a lot longer, but its still very much the same.

So we, and people here who think its the end of the world that the DCT sucks at low speed, need to get a grip. This isn't the only gearbox on the planet with issues and it certainly isn't the only gearbox causing shenanigans for its owners.

But wait, that is being logical. That doesn't work with the internet/
