... ^^ LOL, I agree!!! I've been considering adding the powertrain care (albeit more $ and after the fact) but wasn't convinced it'd even cover the parts I am most concerned about...sweet!

So I had a scheduled visit with my dealer, setup by Ford, for me to inspect the clutches and transmission housing with service manager on Monday. My clutches have been slipping on takeoff, after the car is warm, and also when shifting into third. It is also noticeably worse when it shifts while making a left turn, which is precisely the symptom noted on a work order for TSB 11-12-13 that forum member "primetime" had completed on his vehicle.
Ford had them pull off the starter so I could allegedly inspect the clutches and housing. What a waste of time. You can only see the flywheel. They are trying to tell me that if there was oil leaking, it would be on the flywheel and starter gear teeth. I don't buy it. There was also a copious amount of "rust inhibitor" on the outside of the bell housing and it sure as hell looked like oil to me, but because it was "sticky" that is the reason for them not performing the TSB. Oil gets sticky when it gets covered in road grime and asphalt. What's worse is that clutch started slipping as I left the dealership. Completely at a loss as to what to do next. I can't afford to trade it in, I will lose my a$$ on it, and I just bought a new house that tripled my mortgage. Guess I'm stuck, unless this transmission failure gets escalated to a recall. Will hear back from Ford tomorrow as to what the next steps will be. I'll update my situation here when it changes. |

3rd time to dealer for trans issues...told him I thought I had all recent update BUT he had one and performed the update and on the invoice it said he also performed the drive cycle...other two times didnt say they did.
Invoice said 12884 Updated TCM and performed drive cycle. Acceleration seems WAY before...I just press the gas and it actually goes and goes good. RPMs dont go as high anymore and seems to shift smoother. Still need to drive it around longer but seems good so far. |

Update:
First of all, thanks to Crystal for reaching out and helping me. I took my car in and the bcm was replaced due to all the errors that showed up when they diagnosed it. The shudder issue I had with the car seems to have gone away, the car is also quicker when starting from a stop. I have not had much time to actually drive my car so here's hoping the shudder doesn't come back. The service department at my dealer is so wonderful, they are so helpful and kind to me.

Trans:
I had issues as you all may know... I did alot on my own(it took a visit to a 2 Ford Dealers(2nd one) figured it out and made the nessessary repair. So far much improved.I also suggest that anybody having continuous issues reach out to Crystal -she will take it forward..... I dont have a crystal ball(no pun intended) but truely beleive now Ford is sincerely concerned the issues with the DCT get resolved. I do also--- I want to drive my Focus many miles like I did my previous Chrysler & VW---- 100K+ miles... Thanks Ford. MJB
