Also that seems extremely cheap for the minimal issues he has listed. Wonder if the pan cracked/broke and dumped all the oil causing engine failure. I'd replace the pan in his driveway and request it to be fired up before striking a deal. Or haggle a bit and get it for less so you can make your $ back incase the engine isn't any good.
Also ryan said he hears that cars been in a front end accident

Ditto.

Co-worker bought a GTI brand new in 03, 30k miles after buying it needed a new clutch. VWOA replaced the clutch for free under warranty and he has now gone 100k miles on the clutch they replaced his original one with.

I was thinking some JBWeld qik and fill it back up with oil in the driveway to start it up.

At $1500 I wouldn't care, as long as it was repaired correctly and goes straight down the road.

Yeah anything so you can fire it up. At $1500 with a dead engine you're really pushing your luck on getting your money back out of it for parts. I mean I don't doubt you could, but it might take a while.

This, it might still leak, but should hold oil long enough to hear it run.

Exactly to both points.

Mostly I'd just want it for a straight shell. if the motor was good I figured it'd be easier to re-coop more of the purchase price.
