Welcome to the forum Braden, I saw your ST earlier in the month at the first Thursday meet. Spent about 30 minutes speaking with another tech about your ST and the blue Focus. Great info on your R&D project.

Well, yes, out of the box the ecoboost has the edge, but when all is said and done I wonder if the duratec has more headroom in it after doing a bit of extra prep work.

I guess time will tell.

What makes you say that? What design differences that can't be overcome between the two motors make the ecoboost have more power potential? I know that the ecoboost can make more power than the duratec at first due to the turbocharger and the stronger internals that are required - that is a given. You can put a turbocharger and stronger internals in a Duratec also, maybe that still won't get you close to the ecoboost potential. Maybe the manifold in the jacket of the ecoboost is a limiting factor, maybe it isn't. I'm just curious about initial thoughts between the two motors.

I am asking a serious question out of plain curiosity and I was hoping that the guy from Cobb would have an opinion based off of his looking at the ST motor.
