Speedometer Lighting

The gauges are fine at all times and like any dash they are plenty bright at night. I would only wish that you could change the lighting to match what you picked for the ambient ones but oh well, that's not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm 6 2 and I have no issues with reading the gauges or seeing above the cowl or anything...so I'm not sure why 'tall' people would have trouble.

The steering wheel is also epic and since its a 4 spoke I love it a little bit more.

I think the problem w guys over 6 ft who can see the gauge cluster fully vs those over 6 ft who cannot depends upon where the height "comes " from. Many guys have either long legs or long torsos and when seated this could make the difference. If a long torso indiv is seated then his height from waist up would cause hi. To view the cluster at a diff angle than a guy who has most of his height in his legs

Good thing the seat is adjustable then, and the tilt/telescope feature should accomodate just about everyone. Long legs? Move the seat back, steering wheel down a bit. Longer torso? Lower the seat so you sit low enough to see the cluster, adjust wheel accordingly.

It's not rocket science.

Also... seeing the gauges clearly should be a pretty big point to make sure of when car shopping... it's not difficult when test driving, afterall, it's not like test driving negates the rules of the road, you still have to follow the limit and that entails looking at the speedo.

When leaving a star party the other night(I know, I'm an Astronomy nut) that the cluster is super bright before the lights are powered up. I have the interior lights to the lowest setting but was surprised that the gauges and all the lights were so bright but when I turned on the parking lights that the cluster dimmed. Just an observation. I love my dash, now that it's evenly illuminated. My old ZX2 had half the lights out. I was just too lazy to switch out the bulbs.

I have no complaints about the gauge design in this car, they light up nice and bright and I love the font.

I am Sorry, My comment about Speedometer vision issues is based on owning a New 2013 Focus. This thread was started in late 2011, and the Speedometer vision was about a 2012 Focus purchase.

So I may have to start a new thread about the "2013 Focus" Instrument Cluster Vision and Glare Issues...

I believe the 2013 speedo is identical to the '12.

No, not from what I've been told or what I've seen, they changed the number spacing for some unexplained reason. Its got wider spacing between numbers but it doesn't appear to be better to me.

Instead of marking off every 10 mph it only marks numerically at 20 mph intervals.
