They are pulling them to see if AdvanceTrac is causing the issues or if something else is and by all accounts its a combination of AcvanceTrac and TC along with the TVC that causes shuddering for people.

Well that's what happens when vendor (Ford) keeps telling us "everything is operating according to plan" :)

F19 disables ABS/ESP feed 15. Best guess is that it is a control channel for 'AdvanceTrac' umbrella of technologies. Disable it and drive around - see if you notice any differences.

I've got the same issue

I just purchased my Focus less than a month ago and I too am having the same issue described in this thread. I'm actually taking my Focus in tomorrow to have them check it out.
I addition to the problem listed, does anyone else have or had any issues with a rattling coming from the front, possibly near the brakes or suspension? Every time I go over a bump or apply my brakes I can hear something rattling up there. Its driving me nuts.
Well, I'll report back after the dealer visit tomorrow and let you guys know what I found out.

Yes - there's a few threads on that as well - I think it was usually strut bearings, but not sure.

Here's a couple threads for further reading:

Pulled the correct F19 on the way home lastnight. I did feel like the EPS was definitely affected. In some ways there were spots where it seemed to be much nicer with it off and a few times I had to correct left and right so given some road conditions sorta take over despite EPS on or off. I think if we had the ability to toggle it on or off I'd probably leave it off most of the time. Sucks though I had to plug F19 back in to get my ABS back on.

One thing I found quite interesting was.. While the Fuse was pulled. If you went into the menu where you toggle traction on or off. If you press it to turn trac off it turned it back on. I just assume since the fuse was pulled the system just found fault with the entire system and thats how it reacts but funny to me how it kept turning it back on.

Hey gang,

Just a reminder that I'm still trying to collect VINs of those of you who had success with turning Traction Control off. Shoot me a PM with your VIN and let me know whether or not you had 12B37 applied.

As always, reach out to me if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend!
Crystal

I can see where it might be possible that there is a control loop setup between the traction control elements monitoring the slippage of the front wheels

and the clutch controls monitoring the RPM's of the gears

to where the TCM (transmission control module) starts to activate the clutches, as the ESP (electronic stability program) starts to notice the wheels moving.

and between the 2 systems they are pulsating for a moment until the wheel speed of all 4 wheels is consistent. Curious - how does your car behave on wet ground?

I've gotten mine to spin one wheel on a hard start, but only one and IIRC it is only the left one. (shortest drive shaft)

So after driving with F19 out for couple days this is what I think. I think driving with AdvanceTrac feel like having helicopter mom with second set of car controls. It's crazy. This needs some real fixing - whatever latest programming was done to the system it's sensitivity needs to be SERIOUSLY dialed down. Or at least we need a way to permanently disable both TCS & ESP.
