It will actually get even louder and raspier in a few weeks as the muffler breaks in lol

Definition of cosmetic, affecting only the appearance of something rather than its substance.

I think it sounds decent, albeit loud. Sounds like "rice" is completely subjective, and your posts in this thread are not of much use to anyone.

Definition of rice - A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747

the exhaust isn't big though? and it doesn't look obnoxious. so how is that cosmetic? it's just loud and it has a purpose...

I 2nd that. ^^^^^^^ Hopefuly were back on track. The OP installed a Fwerk's header w/ the race exhaust system. It really sounds awesome. Just a few of us including me, are saying he'll be needing a stealth muffler or a muffler installed in line of what he has now, to quiet it down some. Thats the best ceramic coated header for the 20 & 23. It probably fit in the Mazda 3's too.

and i totally agree. i just think the term "rice" shouldn't be associated with this car. especially when it has to do with cosmetics.

True, the OBX is non coated. As for the sound, it is loud, and in some states you WILL need.to quiet it down for it to be legal, but a RICE exhaust is a muffler with an opening the size of one of the engines cylinders.

since there has been like 3 definitions so far for rice lets just say it sounds ricey,
when i had that same setup u could hear my car from 3 blocks away, its not a rumble like a subaru or deep spooling sound of a big turbo supra its a loud raspy obnoxious crackle that gets mistaken for a honda
