Extended Warranty ?

So anyone get an extended warranty for their new ST?

Which one did you get? How much was it? And why did you go with the one you picked?

I have never bought an extended warranty on any car I have ever owned but those were all GMs and I never needed it. So is FORD as reliable?

I'm not bashing Ford, I just do not have any extended experience with owning one so any input here would be appreciated as I expect delivery of my ST3 in November.

I got the 5yr 100,000 mile warrenty it ran about $1200 but its worth it because it covers everything but brake pads, tires and some smaller suspension parts. in the long run it will save u time and hassle if anything major happens with it and less on ur end

I've heard you need to negotiate on these things... Does anyone have a cost run down on the different options? I'm talking Ford warranties only, not any "aftermarket" ones.

When I bought my car the finance person was lowering the price to get me to buy and finance it with my car. I think now it is a set price.

I also got one on mine, I have actually had it on my other 2 focus’s. I definitely got my money’s worth out of it on my 02 svt, I had and intake manifold issue, clutch and wheel bearing replaces. My 07 had no issues but I negotiated the price down because I really didn’t want it and they gave me 5 oil changes and tire rotations.

It was 1200 on the new ST basically the price difference between the ST2 and the ST3 I had ordered, I figure if the st is anything like the my SVT parts will be expensive. It’s a gamble in my opinion some times you make out some times you don’t

Yes, I think you have to purchase it before the basic 3 year / 36000 mile warranty expires.

I bought the warranty as well for $2500 which probably was too much based on what you guys are saying. This is my first actually new from the dealer car and my first Ford so I have no idea what to expect on this car. Also I don't want to be personally fixing this one like my other vehicles.

I ended up doing a warranty on mine, can't remember what the cost was, but I'm covered up to 150,000 miles. I also went with GAP coverage. Dealer has a money back guarantee on all of their warranties so if I never use them, I can just get cash back.

So they could just charge 10% more for the car and give us a 100k warranty?
