considering this set of shocks......not sure about springs. Yellow Konis on my 2012 Mustang with Steeda Sports.

Paid 470.00 for 4 Koni for a 2002 SVTF that I owned. Not a bad increase in price 1 decade later......

The Konis will require some "modification" for fitment and will raise the ride height of the car. I cam currently looking to pick up these:

The rears bilsteins will bolt right in without issue.

The reason why the struts blow out so early is because when they ship the cars they are on the truck with the suspension bottomed out because of how they are hooked. When they release the car it releases fast which then makes the car spring up quickly. I work at ford and its not just the focus its the escapes, fusions, and Taurus that have the problem.

FYI, its not the rebound that blows the shock, but the compressive force when the suspension is already fully loaded down (hooked). Every bump that train/semi takes compresses the suspension with the full load on the shock already.

This is why many manufacturers ship with spring blocks that are to be removed at dealer prep.

TireRack sells Bilstein Sports now, which as far as I know are supposed to be shorter length Bilstein HDs?

I believe that's correct. According to Bilstein, the Sports (b8 ) are designed to go on vehicles that have been lowered 30 to 50mm.

FYI, this is a necropost. There is a much simpler and less expensive way to get rid of the front end clunk now. The fix was originally discovered by forum member Dysan911 and Ford finally released a TSB to address the issue:

TSB 13-9-9 CLUNK/RATTLE NOISE FROM FRONT END DURING PARKING MANEUVERS AND/OR OVER ROUGH SURFACES AT LOW SPEEDS BETWEEN 8-32 KM/H (5-20 MPH)
