Agreed, I don't get Ford, and why they think everyone LOVES CHROME? WTF? Almost all the Lower models in Europe get black headlights, and in $ they are even cheaper then the Chrome ones. I think Ford America marketing is run by a bunch of

Technically they don't call them chrome headlamp housings but aluminum, but idk if they were actually made from the metal, or just there way of saying silver.

If its actually aluminum it might explain why they cost more than the black ones, but idk. The more expensive lamp housings are used on the cheaper cars and the cheaper looking and feeling housings are used on the higher end cars. It doesn't make too much sense.

My wife's Kia has the black instead of chrome in her headlights and it looks so much better. I am tempted to open the lights up and paint them but not so sure I want to bake them in the oven. My only hope for now is I have friend who has a titanium model but is thinking of getting something else. If he does decide to trade he said he would let me switch the headlights out!!

Too true Suss, and if you check Ford's lineup of Sport package vehicles, the Focus is I think the only one not Blacked out... WTF is up with that?

They de-contented the headlights on the top of the line Ti to save them a few bucks, which made the Ti even more appealing to me

"Tinted" implies light can still get through. I think you mean "Painted."

EDIT: Do you guys think cars with smoked tail lights get rear ended more often?
