traction control
does anyone know if the traction control on an SE sport package can be turned off? if so how? There were pics on another thread showing how to do it on an se but it didn't seem to look the same as the options on mine. I was thinking maybe mine didnt have it but then I noticed I do have the little icon on my instrument cluster that says "trac off". Any ideas? thanks!

Strange indeed.
It was my understanding that only the "S" models were unable to turn off traction control basically due to the absence of steering wheel controls allowing them to control the menu. I'd ask the dealer at the next visit. Perhaps it's a software issue?

If it is in trip 1. Hit left once, down 3 times right 3 times. done.
If you don't have that option then you have something seriously different about your SE. |

Make sure you're using the correct key, assuming the driver "lockout" features are the same on the SE as the SEL.
If you're using the key that was programmed as the main key, you have full control of the car. The second key usually has limited access, since it's meant to be given to valets, or yours kids. For instance I can set that key to a maximum allowed speed, maximum allowed radio volume (I think), and when I use that key I cannot access the driver assist features. |

I just went out and tried again and this is what happens..
starting in trip one.. I hit left down 3 times to "settings" my options after clicking "settings" are "lighting" "display" and "convenience" I just called my dealer and the service guy told me he would have to look at it, so im taking it in to them in about a half hour |

Just got back from the dealer and sure enough Rememo was right! The key I have been using the whole time wasn't the one linked to the "my key" feature. I'm just glad to know its not a defect!

You mean it was linked to the mykey feature? As a MyKey can be programmed to not have access to the driver assist settings. The Master key or admin key in ford speak has full rights to the car once its started and running.
