The Ford Fusion just made a list of the top 10 ten most reliable lemon free cars according to a thing I saw on Yahoo news. Kinda of hard to choose, you'll have room and fun to drive/mod factor with the newer subie, hard to find unmolested older model subies or at least it is around here. The fusion is definitely do able, though I would have to get the flex in my situation with all the kids. Find out how much each one is worth and then look around and see what they are going for. I find that it's best to settle on a make and model and then start shopping for the best deal. Good luck

You can find Jeep SRT 8 for under 40k... but they're high mileage. And usually show their age

I would go with either the flex or wrx wagon. just depends exactly what your needs are. wrx has a tried and true drivetrain, but small on size. on the other hand, the ecoboost flex is freakin awesome and very comfortable to daily driving or any road trip. also have more rear passenger room than any other crossover or suv right now.

I found a flex at Kings Ford that's about exactly what I want except for 60 k miles... might go try to test drive it in the next couple days Does anyone know about the reliability on the flex... or experience pulling a trailer with 1. From what I've read the very capable

If you need something that can pull a trailer with a truck on it, best to think along those lines also. A car isn't going to fit the bill there. But a truck is also impractical as a family hauler.
So it kinda looks like you're looking for 2 separate vehicle here. Also, it looks like you're asking for something to get pulled over in again. Be practical. There is no reason at all that you need something quick/fast to haul the family. This is a place you want room and comfort, and something that you won't go broke filling up. I forgot what the Flex was 'til just now when I looked them up. Not a truck for you IMO. If a SUV is what you're looking at, maybe the Edge would be a better option. But really I'd buy 2 vehicles. A Fusion and an old truck to haul the II. My final decision would hinge on the cost of insurance on a Edge vs a Fusion and older truck. |

Im kinda in the same boat as you. Im looking to trade our Trailblazer and my focus in on a f150 or f250 (4dr). the reason being, i need to get rid of a car and get something that is reliable. Plus we, in Texas, use trucks for alot of things. It will be a good all weather car and hauler.
in other words, get a V6 truck... that would take care of all your needs

Ford Fusion hands down. Check with your insurance company on what the other vehicles will be and I can almost guess that the Fusion will be cheaper than all the others. Plus you are mostly going to be using it to haul around the family. The Fusion is going to get better fuel economy, be cheaper on insurance, be a lot more comfortable(think of it as a couch on wheels), more practical for what you need and overall more reliable than any of the others that you have listed. If you need something to haul around a trailer, I would buy something along the lines of an old F150 for that purpose. The Flex is limited to hauling 4,000 pounds and most average boats with a trailer will weigh near or more than that. The Flex is a good family hauler though but it would be overkill on the fuel economy as compared to the Fusion. But in the end...the choice will always be yours.
