The DCT has different flavours across the globe and sure its not the most amazing DCT I beg you to go look at the DSG complaints from VW or hell the DCT complaints from ANY manufacturer.

Check out the Veloster boards, same kinds of complaints as we have here.

Its just that some people here have an axe to grind against the car for some personal slight.

I will have to agree w/ the hit and miss complaints altho there do seem to be a lot of them here and i'm sure they're legtimate....luckily i've not had problems w/ my dct... (x'd fingers) Someone mentioned VW's wet clutch system and all the problems folks have had w/ that one... Again, maybe hit and miss.. I drove a Golf turbo wet clutch for 3 weeks all over iceland last year in all weather and on all types of roads from smooth asphalt to gummy mud in mountains and it performed flawlessly... I guess neither tranny has any quality consistancy to it and unfortunately many folks get sucky transmissions in their vehicles.
