cleaning the ITG CAI

Could anyone give me tips on what detergent to use to clean my filter, and any oiling tips?

i used soap and water, then air compressors to blow it out, then let it sit till it dried. then just used the recommended spray they sell and coated it 2 times wairin 2 minutes between coats but i am sure there are many methods.

they recommend using gas...

Do not use compressed air on the ITG filters!! It directly states not to as it can damage the delicate foam. SImply wash it with a mild soap and water my squeezing it several times. then get a fresh bucket of just water and squeeze out the filter several times to get all of the soap out. Then let it AIRDRY for several hours depending on how hot it is out. Then apply a light coat of the itg oil and work it into the foam. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FILTER OIL(k&n oil)!!! IT WILL BREAK DOWN THE FOAM AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR MOTOR!!!

i agree do not use the compressed air directly on it,,, i use it to blow off excess,, try to stay at least 12 inches away, your not looking to dry it..

this is why i said " then let it sit till it dried"

Y'all responses were about what I was planning on doing. Did y'all use just a regular mild soap like hand soap?

I use dawn dish soap... cuts grease well.. Just make sure you rinse it out well.
Was never a fan of using gas on how dangerous it is... I use to when i was a kid on my dirt bikes clean with gas, but I had a friend die from this.. so I take no chance.

BTW I used the oil from them a few times but I had to get it once locally and used K&N for 2 years now, no issues with it on the filter.. did not degrade the filter but If you can get the stuff they make I would get it.
