Hey, Burns098356GX -

The ST is available with or without MyFord Touch. Build and price one here:

I don't know about you guys, but Tangerine Scream is calling my name!

If anyone has any SYNC or MFT questions, give me a shout.

, "useless banter", I simply pointed out a FACT, which has been discussed many times, the EU DCT used is a wet clutch version. It behaves very differently than our version, so, you can't compare them. Your argument about the EU market not complaining compared to NA, is invalid, nothing more. Did I hurt your feelings or something Mr. Jaswal?

EU market uses the Dry Dual Clutch version in the 1.6L Ti-VCT Focus automatic/ Powershift, as well as the Russian spec 2.0L at least currently without the same level of complaint as made here. So the same trans is used in europe currently, as well as in Australia, and other places.

Can I say there were no complaints? No, but there doesn't seem to be the same level of whinging and whining in the European press about this vs here on the North American Continent.

Absolutely, but, the EU 2.0 (Russia and Australia, are not EU) uses the wet clutch version (which is the car we're talking about). I believe it was you, yourself that brought that up a while ago in a DCT thread Suss.

Pretty much this, thanks for pointing it out.

The DCT has different flavours across the globe and sure its not the most amazing DCT I beg you to go look at the DSG complaints from VW or hell the DCT complaints from ANY manufacturer.

Check out the Veloster boards, same kinds of complaints as we have here.

Its just that some people here have an axe to grind against the car for some personal slight.

Would you say there is about 3 times as much whining by the US?
The US out sells most other countries (except China) by about 3 to 1. More cars sold in the US = more complaints.

If there is solid data, I would love to look at it.

Cause it all depends on units sold to complaints received.

And not Focus Fanatic complaints, but NHTSA complaints, BBB complaints, things that end up being tracked.

At least then we can compare the Focus to other cars and see if its better off, worse off, or just in the middle with everything else.

I did not look for anything regarding complaints. But from past investigation knew the US was a much bigger market. I thought it was the largest and did not realize China was almost double the size. This is an old article from CNBC. I think it could be used as a good rule of thumb.

Well I can guess you can scale up or down based on the market.

America will obviously have more complaints then the other markets given volume but say those percentages are at...5-10% and say Germany, Russia, England, France are also at 5-10% then I guess its not such a big deal.

If American is at 10-15, maybe even 20%? Okay, now you have issues especially if the rest of the world is still in high single, low double digits.
